We usually perceive masculine and feminine as male and female. However, the masculine and feminine energies are beyond physicality. The key is to understand that these energies are simultaneously in different proportions in both genders, and their expression determines the quality of life.
The balance between masculine and feminine energy is the basis of our existence. Ancient scriptures have reflected on how masculine and feminine energies define our lives. Ancient Hindu scripture tells us that the union of Shiva (masculine) and Shakti (feminine) created everything we see and feel. The folklore details that the basis of creation is Shiva, but the first act of creation is from Shakti. Shiva is the eternal Spirit, the Absolute. Shakti, the Divine Mother, is his creative partner; Shiva could never have created the world without her.
The evidence is strong enough to consider that we possess both energies. The challenge is whether they are in harmony or not.
Masculine energy is about doing, and feminine is about being. However, the world is losing the much-needed balance between masculine and feminine, which is how nature created us. Today, the world is about domination (masculine) rather than inclusion (feminine). Almost everyone gives more importance to economics (masculine) than aesthetics (feminine). The need to balance masculinity and femininity in ourselves now is greater than ever.
In this world, we know everything because of an opposite force. For instance, we know light because we have seen darkness. We know sound because we have felt silence. Everything is relative and can’t exist in isolation.Consider this: in general, the masculine is leaning towards earth, which gives attributes such as firmness and assertion, whereas the feminine is more inclined toward the water, which is mellow and more flexible. Similarly, the sun represents masculine energy, with attributes such as heat, intellect, and power source. On the other hand, the moon represents feminine qualities such as calmness and beauty. Can these exist in isolation?
But why is it important to get these energies to work in harmony within ourselves? The answer is to achieve our maximum potential and live a fulfilled life.
Many people have argued to achieve polarity with these energies for successful and passionate relationships. This aspect is essential.
My small personal experiences make me believe that conscious nurture of both masculine and feminine among ourselves, not only with others, will put you on the path of inclusive and unlimited growth.
You may have heard people saying that behind every successful man, there is a woman. A female business partner, spouse, mother, or sister who is closely associated with you in your thought process could significantly impact your life.
Napoleon Hill strongly suggests in his legendary book, How to Own Your Mind, “…every man should include at least one woman in his Master Mind alliance. When the minds of male and female are combined, or blended, in a spirit of harmony, the alliance tunes in and appropriates a much greater proportion of that force which we call ‘spiritual power’ than either can appropriate when operating independently.”
Mr. Hill further states, “…the ideal relationship, of course, is one in which a man’s wife (if he is married) also becomes a member of his Master Mind alliance. She may not participate in the business conferences he has with the other members of his alliance, but she can have a lot to do with the ‘Mental attitude’ in which he enters these conferences, and in that way, exercise a powerful influence on the group as a whole that affect him.”
Imagine if you could activate the feminine traits within yourself. Imagine a person who does hard work but needs to be using creativity to act smartly and accomplish much more. Similarly, harnessing the power of intuition in making a deal that seems logical until now. We could make much better decisions and achieve more by activating the masculine and feminine in us.
This is a continuous endeavor. Nature has created us with both masculine and feminine energies, and there is no point in being one or the other when we can be both within ourselves.
